Need A PC Upgrade, Suggestions?

Even with the power connectors?

the Corsair psu will have a 20+4pin ATX connector (so its detachable making either a 20pin or 24pin) and if the motherboard needs an additional 4 or 8 pin ATX connector next to the cpu cooler, the corsair psu will have a 8pin power connector for that too(just leave 4pins hanging of the side of the 4pin power socket on the board)

yes a GTX460 needs two six pin connectors, luckily the corsair CX500 and upwards have two connectors(usually a 6pin and a further 6+2pin)

EDIT: Also what is the best GTX 460 1gb to buy new theres so many options. and i read that they need 2 PCI-e 6 pin connectors for power which the cables come with the GPU but my psu has 2 8 pin PCI-e Connectors just some confusion there. Sorry For Being Such A Noob

At least you're doing your research, and you ask the right questions. You may be right about that, and the Corsair CX is not adequate. There's also the Coolermaster GX 550W as well, with proper SLI support.

However, it's always a good idea to spend good money on a good power supply (650W+, around £80). That's one thing that you don't need to upgrade too often. I've had my corsair HX 620W for over two years, I don't look to upgrading it in the near and not so near future. Spending an extra £20 would be worth it if you plan on an upgrade (Sandy Bridge / Bulldozer) later.

the CX500 has one PCI-e power connector, just saying. I'm not really keen on adaptors. But if it's fine...

I would say that with a Q6600 and a 460 in there they are going to cook. It look's like that case has virtually no ventilation so a new case might be a good move as well.

Okay i've gotta buy them today im thinking of the Gigabyte GTX460 1GB

And on psu. just need one thats definatly going to work with the 460 and have the right connectors for everything else. For cooling im going to trial my case right now. if its cooking ill buy a new case i have a few spares lying around that might be better.

Then OcUK needs to amend their description. No need to be so narky.

I said in post #21 that the CX500 had two pci-e connectors.

then in #23 and #25 you where asked why it wasn't adequate?

yet in #26 you still claimed it had only one!!

I get my info from the actual manufacturers, perhaps you should too next time?
