Need a Phone to replace Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

Hi, the S7 edge was dropped once to often and I need something to replace it.
Would the Galaxy A8 (2018) be a good choice? ( I want to stay with Samsung)

The S7 edge was a £600 flag ship phone
The only phones you're going to get for around £180 these days are going be budget phones

Maybe worth taking a look at the new Samsung A40
