Hi,

Well my shuttle XPC SN41G has gone through the delayed turn on and now I think the psu has finally died.

Is there a particular kind of PSU that I need to use or do a couple of manufacturers make them that fit?

I'd like a relatively cheap one that is very quiet. Its not a heavy duty comp so doesnt need to be high wattage.

Thx in advance.

Rick

check with any old PSU to make sure it is the PSU, as if it's something else then it could be costly. but as far as getting a new one that fits and the lid shuts then ebay may be your best bet. type in your shuttle number and see what comes up. you may even find a broken one with a working PSU

Shuttle do a 200, 220, 250 and 300 which will all fit and power the G series, the 240w is the wrong shape. If you can get one then the 250w will be your best bet with quietness, power and good cooling.

thanks for the replies guys, ill look into it. Might just try and sell it in the condition it is in tbh.

IMO none of their tiny PSUs are quiet, cool or rugged enough to justify the cost of a new replacement. My Sn41G2 has been limping along on a dying PSU for the last couple of years without any ill effects - running 24x7 - but it just ain't worth the cost of replacing the PSU in what's now a relatively underpowered and unupgradeable machine. One day I'll just bite the bullet and build a new machine to do the same job its doing.

If there was a case manufacturer enterprising enough to support the flex atx format (albeit unofficially) so I could transplant the thing into a proper case, I'd buy one like a shot. But there isn't. Sell it, I would!
