Need a printer for uni quickly

Large ammounts of text = lazer for sure, MFPs are alright, but still they use ink instead of toner which can get constly if you're printing out large documents for uni.

Yeah cant see any laser printers in my price bracket with a scanner. Problem is that print catridges are so expensive and i cant find a good printer which doesn't burn through them.

I was thinking about the cannon mp190 but thats out of stock and its more expensive or out of stock elsewhere and i need next day delivery as i go to uni on the 19th

I bought myself a Canon laser a couple of years ago and last year bought my parents an HP laser. Both cost £50 and are miles better than the inkjets they replaced. I also have a Canon scanner bought about 2 years ago. I think that was about £50. It's extremely compact, light and very good quality.

Go for the Canon pixma ip4600 about £70 if you look round, plus you can use compatable ink cartridge's about £20 full set. I'm using Canon pixma ip4300(+ compatable ink cartridge's) can't fault it and that was £70 but the ip4600 is a couple of model's up better spec. But if you want a laser mono printer you can get 1 AV for £70 just google it, but check the toner price before you buy. ;)

I bought a HP Photosmart C4580 (printer scanner) from a certain celestial object for just under £50. The Purple uniform brigade also sell it for £50. Replacment ink is like £14 but tbh from my experience at uni most lectures will give you pre printed handouts at the start of a lecture to scribble your notes down on. If you need to print somthing massive take it to a uni computer and use their laser printers its cost like 5p a sheet max.
