As above really, I've corrupted my boot.ini etc a few times from bad (unstable!) overclocks in the past and although I've learnt my lesson, I think it'd be a good idea to backup my Windows install now whilst it's fresh & working so what would be the best program to do this for me?

Acronis True Image. Create a fresh, new clean install, image your windows partition, and create the bootable CD from Tools. Very good software for a good price.

Backup all of your files (My Documents, Music, Pictures etc etc) with Robocopy. This software is free from MS. A GUI is available.

Robocopy will perform a complete backup of your documents, and then only copy the new or updated files in further backups, saving time!

Corrupting boot.ini is nothing bad, it will just default to c:\windows and boot from that, and you can always rewrite boot.ini manually, it's pretty simple. You could also copy just the boot.ini and use that as a backup :p

As to your question:
Norton Ghost
Arconis True image

I'm using an old dos based ghost, and it makes perfect clones of any hdd.

Vista HP has a backup and restore utility that can backup files and folders, Business, Ultimate and Enterprise can do the same aswell as full system backup.

Find it in control panel.
