Need a proper bank statement ASAP

Hi,

I need a bank statement in order to show proof of address. All my banking is done online so I do not have one.

If I walk into my bank will they be able to print a proper statement out with my address / date etc out there and then?

What about if you print one yourself from the online banking? Is that good enough? I opted out of paper-statements a few years ago.

No. You have to phone them up to request a paper statement which usually you have to pay for.

Yes they should be able to do that for you. Can you not use a utility bill?

No you don't? I've had to do it with my mother for a phone contract.

I think the can print one out but I'm not sure if they can sometimes charge you for it?

Some banks will charge you, others won't. Though I can't help but feel that you would have been quicker to phone your bank...

I've been to the bank today to get a statement, they didn't charge but the statement didn't contain my name or address. You might be able to get one that does though.

I recently had to do this with Lloyds (to get a russian visa) and branches were unable to print meaning some delay sending them through.

I still get paper statements because you need them for things like this

I always keep the most recent one and shred the older ones then recycle them. I online bank as well, far easier to transfer money there and just keep an eye on the old balance

2) phone the local branch directly
3) "hi, can you print statements if I walk through the door?"

They probably won't give you one in person as that doesn't prove your address. On halifax online banking you can order a paper statement though.

Have you not got anything from the university with your address on it? Depends who you are trying to prove it to but that's what I used to do.

My bank (Natwest) will print me out a statement at the bank but it doesn't have your name and address on.

I had to request one to be sent to me in the post.

You can print your online statements, take them to the bank and they will put a stamp on it to verify that they are genuine. (assuming your address is actually on your online bank statement).

They can also write a standard letter confirming your details.

At least Halifax/Bank of Scotland did when I was having to complete all the paperwork for visas which required bank statements (online copies were not accepted without a stamp from the bank)

No oping out loses you a standard way to prove your address.
