Need a PSU to take my O/C's

My TX750 does seem to cut my setup anymore since upgrading to CF7970GHZ editions.
I'm trying to overclock these cards past 1150/[email protected] volts and Im getting crashing and a lot of noise comming from my PSU.

The rest of the system is a [email protected], 16GB, HDD and SDD in a Antec 902.

I was told previously that my current PSU would be fine, I dont want to upgrade if its a case of the cards being simply at their limits. Althought they run Heaven4, Valley and 3DMark in extreme settings at 1150/1700, I got a crash last night in metro, and they wont overclock past the above clocks.

If I do need to change PSU I'm thinking I may go for this one unless any-one can come up with some-thing better.

Any seasonic or xfx PSU would be a good shout. They do 850w versions too.

Silverstone also may be worth a look. The strider series is very good.

Personally not a fan of corsair PSU's myself.

are you sure its not the cards? esp in xfire,games will be more stressfull than benchmarks

what are the gpu temps/vrm temps like

I hit about 80c core not sure abour vrm will have to check and report back (this is with 1150/1700 O/C)

I'm fairly sure your PSU should be able to handle that provided it's working properly.

It might well be the case that those are the limits that those cards can take.

It does depends on what cards are you using.
MSI 7970 lightning CF reviews give 900W max system draw, so I would imagine if you are using clock speed near 1150/1500 you would need somewhere near 900W to play safe.

I myself run a Seasonic X-1250 on my CF lightnings, so a bit overkill but more is better than less

(IMO)
