Thats my shopping list, is there anything you would change. For example, Ive heard that the ASUS DDR2 mobos are a bit tempremental with memory, I'm pretty sure I've got a decent compat memory but I wouldn't mind someone double checking. Especially after the socket blunder yesterday ;)

I am wanting to get this delivered tommorow though so a fast reply or two would be appreciated. cheers.

And yes, it is for a gaming rig (well, a counterstrike: Source rig ;) )

PeeJ ( or aimbot.cfg for the css players out there :D )

I'll take it that no one can see anything wrong with the spec then?

Not that I'm impatient, I just wanted to order early enough to get it tommorow (on my day off) :P

Get a pentium conroe and an MSI motherboard instead and some G skillz ram
In my experience MSI are terrible, and the only way I'd go intell is for the conroe architecture, which I'm not streatching for tbh.

Besides already ordered, and also, did you even read the thread, I was worried about memory compatibility errors :p lol

She ain't called Pentium anymore, she's called Core 2 Duo. Furthermore MSI's conroe boards are rather poor so far. You'd be much better off getting a Gigabyte, an Asrock/Asus, or an Intel board.

With Gigabytes watch out as there is some G.Skill memory compatibility that has not received a BIOS batch yet. Supposedly there is one on the way.

EDIT: Did you already order, PeeJ?

Yeah, already ordered it mate, there were no replies for like ages, so I took that as a sign no one could find compatibility issues and clicked 'ok' .

I wasn't going Intell anyway as -as I said- I wasnt going to fork out that much (would have only done it for the conroe core).

Dude, three and a half hours with no replies is hardly ages. I think you kinda ripped yourself off. The 7900GTX is a rather poor investment when X1800XTs are so cheap and the 7900s have a poor record when it comes to reliability. The 4200 is really just an overclocked 3800 so it's generally a poor choice. Stepping up to the 4400 gets you more cache which, IMO, is worth it. Add to that the fact that even the cheapest of Conroes will trounce the 4200.

What does this mean? Nobody said anything about getting ano Intels OTHER than the Core 2 Duos.

It means I couldnt do the conroe so I wasn't going intel, so te chip was kinda set.

3 hours was enough tbh, I'm off work tommorow which means I had to recieve the parts tommorow (for various reasons), which ment ordering early.

Thats why I said I needed quick help :p

Thanks for the reply anyway.

Well I hope you enjoy your purchase regardless of whether or not you overpaid.

In the future if you want others to look over your spec I recommend waiting at least a day. :)

*sigh* Yes thankyou, but as I explained I couldn't, otherwise I just wouldn't have got the parts.

It's all good. Overclock it and let us know how you do. :)

HaHa, I was just asking how Overclockable that chip is in the OC forum, Apparently the mobo I've got is designed for it so I though I might give it a crack.
