Hi folks,

Sorry if you get this a lot but I'm looking for a bit of help, cable has recently been installed in my flat and it needs to be shared out between potentially 3-5 of us although not likely to be all at the same time. Is the Buffalo WYR-G54-1 as from here a suitable solution or would the Netgear WGR101 be better? There won't be anything else much going over the network and I'd prefer to not spend much because I'll only be in the flat for another month or so but if there is anything else up to ~£30 then I'd be interested.

Ideally I'd like something that I could use with my ADSL connection when I'm at home as well but if that isn't possible then no worries, I can always bodge something together.

As a network adapter for my PC I was either thinking of the Buffalo WLI2-USB2-G54 and maybe the Netgear WG111 as a backup, I'd be buying both partly to use at home, again if anyone has any better suggestions please let me know.

Thanks.

To use a router with ADSL and Cable you'll need an Ethernet ADSL modem.
There are very few routers about that do both, none in your price range.

that buffalo thing will do the job, however anything in the <£30 range isn't going to be spectacular and you'll probably experience wireless connection issues or other drawbacks, such as very limited number of connections, CPU overload after prelonged use with encryption etc.
You get what you pay for.

Ok thanks for the response, it is just for a pretty short term thing, if my flatmates want to buy something decent then they can after I've left but I need something to get it working just now :)
