Hey guys, a while back I purchased a graphic card from here, which is no lnger being sold, if they are cheap enough, I would like to get a second one for SLi:

OcUK GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB

Could any1 let me know how I can get one of these cards now?
Have you guys @ OCUK got any in stock anywhere?

How many posts away from members market am i?

Could someone have a check for me, see if there's one on there?

Watchin one now on the bay, ends in half hour... :)

I've been a member of the store for years...only actually saw there was a forum a little while back...had I of know when i joined up, i would have filled this whole place up with crazy spam by now :D :D :D

Am I right in thinking that to run Sli, I need 2 identical cards?
If I purchase another vendor's 8800GTX, would I have issues running these together?

anyone know the clock speeds of the ocuk model?

Pretty sure that if you use a different vendor's model and the clockspeeds are different, they just both run at the speed of the lower one.

I haven't got an Nvidia card so don't know exactly how, but you should be able to find the clock speeds somewhere in the driver settings.

Thats correct from what I understand, different vendors are perfectly fine, although doesn't the slowest card need to be at the top (or the other card will speed up, maybe wrong there)

Cool, cool...

So I could grab any 768 8800GTX off the bay, and they should both run sli?

Could someone confirm this? I would hav thought it would be a no-go, kinda like mixing up different memory sticks?

I used to use a asus and a bfg gtx 8800 in sli np.They both had the same clock speeds though so cant comment how cards of different speeds would work.

That's a 8800gtx yes but that's from 2007.Also do you have a sli mobo and a beefy psu man enough to run sli. Also a a fast quad core to feed them.

My rig is the 4GHz i7 bundle, I've just looked up the board, and it does x16 on both pci ex slots, so it should be all good, my psu is a Thermaltake ToughPower 750W.

Do I need to have 4 of the graphic card power outlets from my psu? (2 per card)

I m thinking trying to google as we can't link you, even through OCuk themselfs don't the item in question, its still a competitor.

i am running trisli 8800gtxs with different brands - it's fine

also, yes you will need to fully connect all of them to the psu

make sure your airflow is very good! with three i have had to serioulsy chuck some air at them (cpu is watercooled but couldn't justify the cost for the gpus as they were on the verge of being old hat when i bought them)

No you can buy a molex to 6pin adaptor for a couple of quid. I ten to go for one real six pin PCIe cable and an adaptor per card, not that it would make any difference :p

I'm having the exact same problem trying to find a cheapish 8800GT 512Mb.

Keep an eye out on the Member's Market, I got mine around 2 weeks ago for £35incl :D Next time you see one, find a thread where they have gone cheap and show the seller, though they go for anything between £35-50incl.
