All,

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum section... but i need a second opinion, it has been a while since i have purchased PC parts myself.

Anyway i am planning on purchasing the following PC for a family member this Christmas...

And was wondering if someone could check and make sure that everything is compatible and will work together

I already have case monitors etc. (The case i have is Thermaltake Swing (Standard ATX)) this is not gaming build, this is simply supposed to be a quiet Home Office Build

Budget: £250, i know it is a small budget, but got lots of pressies to buy :)

CPU

Motherboard

RAM

CPU Cooler

Rgds.

Do you have a graphics card?
If not, your better off going for a Z68 chipset for onboard graphics.

You can also save a few £££ by going for the Kingston Hyperx Blu RAM...I think its £24 ATM.

Also, that cooler might be abit OTT considering you cant overclock the i3 and it runs pretty cool as it is. Maybe get an Arctic cooling Freezer pro 7 rev2...really good cooler, for little money.

I suppose you've chosen a water-cooling CPU heatsink due to the low noise levels?

If not, you could always just use the money for a HDD, maybe even small capacity SSD, though they are pretty darn expensive right now.

Yeah, for quiet build. And got a WD HDD 1TB so all sorted

Save some money on the CPU cooler, the standard one will be sufficient for a home non overclocked system and it isn't very load at all.
