Ello guys,

Been running a rig (as per my sig below) for 6months or so with no problems. Yesterday I added a few bits and bobs, such as a SATA blu-ray drive, and finally got round to connecting up the Power LED on my Asus Vento TA-881 case.

Whilst cleaning the guts of the machine, and removing a now redunant IDE cable, I checked to see what thermal paste (if any) was on the CPU, found there was none, so applied some thermalright paste left behind by a mate when I built his new PC a few weeks ago.

Unfortunately, i've pretty much buggered up the standard intel heatsink/fan's supports when putting it back together, so it no longer "clamps" in properly to the motherboard. I've bodged it down and its running at 50-60C at the moment, was at 75C when I first booted it up...worrying. (back at standard speed just in case)

I'm looking at a replacement heatsink/fan which isn't a huge behemoth of a thing (the case, I think, isnt deep enough to accommodate something like a Thermalright 120..) and is relatively quiet.

Any ideas? Have spotted the Zalman CNPS8000 & Arctic Cooling Alpine 7 Pro as a cheaper option...
