I know this is a long shot, and i'm probably better off getting a new CPU and memory, but i'm a cheapskate :P

I have a 1.4GHz T-bird on an Epox 8k7a board, the board is dead, i've checked every other componant and they are all fine.

So, i need a new board, but i have no idea if any boards around still support socket A.

Tell me the bad news people :)

There are still quite a few Socket A boards around, for the very reason you need one :)

They can be had for £20+.

Post in Members Market Wanted that you want one. Bound to be plenty about.
What sort of memory have you got ? :) SDR or DDR, I have a couple of KT7A Raids in the attic. Version 1.0 with A9 bios. Chipset is the Via KT133A

I also have a KT7ARaid Mobo, and they are, well... Perfect.

Esp for the TB14.

Not so much for the later XP CPUs as many said that their XP wont run on them, but mine took to the XPs up to the XP2000 just fine, and only the XP22 had issues, but for the Athlon / Durons it was fine... Cant say on the new Durons, but then, you want it for yout TB14 so its not a problem.

Id ask DeadEye what he's askign for his... Cant be much if they are in his attic.... Go on DeadEye... Lerrim ave one for a few pee mate....
