Hi everyone!

So i bought me a new machine (yey) and it runs everything well.
But i am seeing that people on here are destroying my 3d Mark 2006 score

So i am keen to overclock.

My specs:

1 - BFG GeForce 8800 GTX OC 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) -
Retail
1 - Enermax Liberty 620W ELT620AWT ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU
1 - Asus M2N-SLi Deluxe (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
1 - AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5600+ 2.80GHz (Socket AM2) - Retail
1 - Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C4 800MHz Dual Channel
Kit (BL2KIT12864AA804)

So far i have 10500 or little over. Managed to get the CPU to run @ 3010 mhz and the GFX card to run @ 610/915

As standard my CPU runs @ 2800 and the GFX Card @ 600/900

I have noticed people getting crazy overclocks on both the card and the CPU, so how do i go about this? :D

Thanks for your time

Carl

Overclock in very small steps... stabalize... move on. Repeat that and you should achieve high clocks...

Hmmm i am only on a stock cooler with the CPU which is slightly concerning.
I did by an Areo Flower but it would not fit on my board!!!

I was most upset but i am now going to invest in a titan Amanda i think?
Thoughts on the cooler?

Also is my RAM up to scratch?

You can overclock even with the stock cooler, just make sure that u keep an eye on the temp.

Coretemp or everest seem to be favourites around here

Titan Amanda is apparently a good cooler when clocking, but is very expensive and extremely big and heavy. Make sure it will fit in your case and clear all your components!

Looking at the pic of your mobo on the OCUK site (presume its the one with the heatpipe going from the Northbridge heatsink) it looks ok, but may need to double check with some-one else that has your mobo with that cooler.

Hey guys,

well i bought a new case with some hardcore fans in it and have managed to get a nice increase on just a stock cooler (11027 in 3dMark 06)

The CPU is currently running at 3136mhz and my Memory is running at 896mhz

I have Crucial Ballistix 800mhz Dual CHannel kit. What is the maximum this can run at?
I have ordered a Titan Amanda and some GeIL Memory because apparently it is meant to overclock more? Anyone comment on this?

So with the new cooler and my new ram, what do we think we can get the processor runinng at? :)

Also my BFG 8800 GTX OC will not run any quicker than 610mhz processor and 906mhz memory? Surely this can not be right? Anyway i can get this running quicker without blowing it up? ;)

Thanks for your time

Carl
