Need A Suggestion On GPU

Hey, I just need a quick suggestion on a new GPU. My current card is a 7950gt, so i think it's time for an upgrade.

My monitor runs at 1920x1080 and I would like my games at max :-D I have been playing at low for too long and need pampered!;)

The only problem is choice. I have been eying up the new cards but noticed the offer of a 295 for the same price.

Can anyone offer an opinion. My mind is going round in circles trying to figure this out, some outside help would be appreciated. Thanks.:D

5870 would be my choice.

It's a single card vs the 295's SLI requirement.

It is DX11 compatible making it future proof, the 295 is neither of those things.

It can only get faster with to driver updates, as they are still in their infancy.

I would get ethoir the OCuk vlaue GTX295....but my mouse would actruly click the buy button on the HD5870, gives about the same performances but its DX11 ready for when Devs get thier butts in gear and get them out ;p

Thanks for the suggestions guys, thought I would just through one more thing into the mix. Would it be better of waiting until January and seeing what Nvidia have to offer? I have been looking for info but most of it just seems to be speculation.

Mind you, I have been saying 'I'll wait and see what comes out next' since last Christmas lol might be time to just jump in.

It's harder to say than normal right now because we really have no idea whats going on with nvidia. It may be that the rumours are wrong and a top end card will come out from nvidia shortly but my gut instinct this time is that cards won't be available till next year maybe as late as easter. Take this with a total pinch of salt though its only my opinion but if you look at my card history you'll see I'm no fanboy of either camp and simply buy what I think will be the best. I think if money is not a big issue go with the Radeon 5870 now you won't be dissapionted and can always xfire another later. If you wanna spend a bit less like me for almost no drop in performance get the 5850 for 100 less and clock it up if you feel like it again with xfire being a later option.
