need a switch

Wan to move the broadband modem away from my desk. And closer to the telephone mains.

Will need to use a swith on the desktop computern to connect my voip fone and pc.

Any recommendations for switches? Sometimes do game on the computer. but most web browsing and stuff.

Are they all more or less the same or do they different substantially to pay a premium?

A tplink switch costs just £6.

Also are they plug and play?

There are 2 main types, managed and unmanaged. You will likely need an unmanaged unless you want to configure and use more advance features. Managed switches are a lot more than £6 to buy. I use a cheapo TP Link switch for my tv and sky box but have a better Cisco one for my PC.

TPLink will be fine.

Great thanks for the fb. I have a tplink router which is dire. Very stupid to control but I guess a switch is simple enough technologically that they should be able to handle it.
