Need a Upgrade card suggestions plzz

Hi all

I built this system 2 years ago for my 2 young boys to play online games and a few other games they play, but now they are a bit older and are using this pc now for better games (battlefield 2/command conquer etc) and i think that the 8500gt is the bottleneck on this system im looking for a replacement for them so that they can use decent gfx settings at the moment the games are set low and anything higher causes serious fps drops its not playable really.

Dual Core E2180 2.00ghz
2GB Memory
Western 500GB hdd
SB Audigy Sound card
8500GT Gfx Card
(Just given them my old 22" pebble)
mid tower case
500w PSU


New or secondhand will be ok and i might have to upgrade the Psu too not sure yet though, Budget is about £0-60 ish

If you can stretch to £80 you can pick up a new 4850 which would be a massive step up, alternatively yeah look 2nd hand

Or a GTS 250, but i reckon that CPU could be overclocked a fair bit higher?

+1 for a 4850 but for the extra ££ i would buy new just for peace of mind at least you can send it bk if it does'nt work for some reason

Yep 4850 new or 2nd hand. Maybe do something about that cpu also

You might get a second hand 4870 for £60, depending on the PSU make and model it should be ok

either 4850 or 4870 but I personally would make sure to get the 1gb version over the 512mb.

I've been seeing a ati 4850 going for £45 and a e6600 going for under £50 on the MM

Cheers guys will look into what suggestions you have mentioned, Might up my budget a bit for them but they have other stuff for xmas at the moment.
