Right, thanks for all your attention! I've just recently starting using this
forum. Been registered since last Jan. So hello everyone!! :p

Anyways, I'm in a bit of a dilema with choosing some hardware.
Firstly, I'm ordering - tonight - my BFG 8800 GTX from OcUK.
I'm also going for the Intel Core 2 DUO E6600. Glad I got those 2 outta
the way hehe. But, it's the MoBo and the RAM that I'm still trying to decide
what to buy (I'll list what I've picked a bit further down) but first I gotta
point out that I'm totally into gaming. I play at atleast 1600x1200
and always have settings to HIGHEST. I love tons of AA and FSA, bleh,
bleh... I just lurve EYE CANDY!!

So for MoBO here's what I been looking at:

ASUS P5W64-WS Pro Intel 975X (4 PCi X!)

OR

ASUS P5WDG2-WS Pro Intel 975X PCi X

OR

DFI Infinity 975X PCi X

*** nForce MoBo preferably!! I can't find any?!?!?!?

(I've only just started OC'ing so maybe DFi a bit too complex for me at
moment - but you got to learn somewhere i guess!!)

And now the RAM.... (Fastest first!)

Crucial 2x1GB DDR2 PC2-8000C5 1000 MHz

OR

GeIL 2x1GB PC8000C4 1000MHZ

OR

Corsair 2x1GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-64000C4 TwinX

This's what I been looking at, I'd love the GeIL but maybe that's a bit too
pricey. The Corsair sound prett good.

Well I'd really appreciate any help/advice, etc and thanks in advance,
but keep in mind that what I'm looking for is fast, smooth and slick
gameplay with total eye candy and lots of SHADERS yum!!

Any other suggestions, etc is more than welcome.

Thanks again people, and look forward to your advice!

Thanks for the advice guys. Much appreciated.
The reason I gave various ram is because I'm not totally clued up about this,
hence the reason for this post. Ideally, i'd like my set up to run a high shader
game at a high FPS with out the need to OC but i know this isn't the case.
Since the 8800 now incorporates the unified shader cpu this will indeed
take the strain from a cpu for high shader games.
To be a bit more specific, I want hardware that'll deliver very high performance
with little or no slow down at all. Maybe I'm expecting too much from the
budget that I have lol (say £180 max for MoBo, £240 for CPU, £200-250 for
RAM and my card BFG 8800 GTX £480).
Going for the 1000MHz RAM, well what I had in mind was more "fututre proof"
because I know this will be needed soon for future CPU's.

Also nForce is more preferrable at this stage, unless anyone can
suggest anything else.
