Anyway, can someone with some free time do the following for me...

Set up a game of bowling with 4 players and play a full game but time it to see how long it takes please?

If anyone can help that'll be great

It depends on how quickly you bowl, always takes ages with my flatmates as there's a lot of banter.

Don't worry about the banter side of things, we just need a rough estimate

This is just a guess here.

I'd say it takes roughly 45 seconds to finish 1 frame (two bowls). So your looking at about 4-5 minutes for one person?

For 4 people, with all the faffing about, I'd say your looking about 18 - 20 minutes or so?

I've added some fuzzy logic to including faffing about, celebrating like a loon and gloating at friends here... but I'd say thats probably right.
