Need advice about router/modem

Hello all,

I have 8mb ADSL with BT, running through a BT Home Hub. I really need a replacement for the Home Hub with allows me to allocate bandwidth. There are 2 PC's connected directly, 1 laptop and PS3 connected wireless.

The trouble is i get terrible lag when gaming on my PC. I have no clue whether i need just a router or both router and modem.

I would really appreciate some suggestions. this lag is killing me

Well can either device be connected via cable? Wireless is slow as snails! I like the new Belkin N1's which i believe have QQS. I know that Linksys WRT54G has QQS and there newer devices will have it too, a simple google for router with QQS should do the trick!

I am leaning towards Netgear as they have a built in modem.
Anyone recommendations?
