Need advice about silent cooling....

I am getting tired of stock fan noise in my system....
I am not overclocking so I am mostly just looking for parts that are silent and on par with stock.

I have thought of getting a scythe ninja to cool my amd x2 +4400
Is the fan coming with it silent?

Might need something to cool my x1900xt.

And then a silent "exhaust" fan for the cabinet. I'd prefere a natually silent one and not one that I need to mod the voltage.

Oh and if any of you have some good advice on a tv-card (preferably one that has it all, price is not a concern) in a windows 64 bit machine, do throw it in too. But the cooling is top priority ;)

Now the reason I ask you guys is because all the reviews on publishers sites of fans and coolers claim to be the best, so to me it is a jungle. I recon some of you guys have tried a lot of different things and know what is good out there. I'd prefere air and not water as it seem a bit overkill as I am not overclocking :)

Hope you can help :)

The 120mm fan with the Ninja is pretty silent. Especially as it tends to run at minimum speed all the time :)

The noisiest part of my system is the stock cooler on my 7900GT - the 140mm and 3*120mm fans are silent by comparison.

How do these look? Will they do the part instead of my stock cooling and silently?

Scythe Ninja Plus Heatpipe CPU Cooler (Socket 478, 754, 939, 940, LGA755)
Artic Cooling Accelero X2 Cooler (X1800/X1900 Series)
Akasa AK-183-L2B Ultra Quiet 120mm Fan - 3 pin.

Do I need anything more? I've got a little tube of arctic cooling somehwere... do I need more than one?

I found the fan that came with my Ninja quite loud. It had an annoying whine to it. I ran it with that for a day then I swapped it out for a 120mm Akasa which cools better and is quieter... Just need to figure out how to strap my Panaflo onto it now:D

I would also go for the Zalman VF900 over the Arctic cooler, but I suppose thats just down to personal preference as I've heard good reviews on both. One tube of AS should be more than enough, they last for ages and you only need a tiny amount on your CPU/GPU for it to work best:)

Hmm okay, so maybe two akasas then.

How do I compare - Noise Level: 18.5 - 25.0dB to - Noise Level: 0.4 Sone????

Anyone know?

What is a sone anyways?

Okay read this, though it does not give me any idea hehe...:

Noise Level
The noise level is measured in Sone (loudness) instead of dB (sound intensity).
The loudness depends upon ears response curves and tells you exactly, how bothering a certain noise is.

What about height? Are the coolers on the graphic cards higher than stock?

Okay read into the threads about VGA-cooling. I am going x2.

So two akasa fans a ninja and an x2 :)
