Im no expert on advising what hardware for you to buy but buying AMD 8 core will not give any real performance gains from what you have.

Plus its a dead socket now. For your budget im sure the chaps will come up with a much better Intel build for you.

Dude thats not a lot of performance for your money, is there any reason you went down the pre-built route?
You could probably get more for you money, one of these guys will spec you but I doubt it will be AMD for a CPU.

No reason really just thought OC mite well build it better than me lol.
I have always had AMD but open to anything any help be great

Just put an RX 480 into your current system. If you really want a new build then go Intel (Or wait and see what AMD Zen brings).

Do you know what make/model power supply you have ?

I'm not sure what the spec of the unit is as. I'm fairly sure it's an HEC unit. Seems to be available from the rainforest and blue shirt brigade (£70 from the blue shirts)

It's a 780W PSU, but only has 2 PCI-E 6-pin connectors. That has me questioning the internal quality of the unit. It is probably OK to use with a 480.

so just upgrading the graphics card will solve my issues my 7850 is old an worthless now?

I would look at replacing the power supply as well. A 550W is enough for a single graphics card.

As for the 7850 keep it as a spare, as you never know when you might need a backup.

A SuperFlower Golden Green would do fine if you don't mind a non modular power supply.

Or a Leadex if you want modular (As long as you don't mind the LED connectors).

What's wrong with the power supply?
Think it was just a quick fix a while ago when had problems I really don't mind buying a new system I've had my rig for prob about 10 years+ now upgraded many times but its the same rig maybe time for a full upgrade

Want to play things like battlefield one on high settings without poor frames an slow loads an what not for that I would need SSD for sure an i7 ?

as above you already have an FX8320 no point in building a Machine running an FX8350..
Do you have an SSD?

I would be looking at a graphics card upgrade and an solid state drive as a system drive with a clean install of windows. this should speed things up a bit.
and as above get a good power supply in there. a weak power supply can cause strange problems. when I first started I had a cheapo 750watt PSU but after replacing it with a quality branded one I found my system responded quicker

also if you are using a stock cooler bin it and fit an aftermarket cooler this should allow a moderate overclock.

what case do you have? has it got good airflow?

If you still decide you want to upgrade through time I would say go intel but you could use the parts you buy and move them over to the new build.

when I built my first intel machine I was coming from an FX8350 and I noticed my games ran so much smoother. it was a worth while upgrade.

I would always keep an old graphics card unless it doesn't work. Having spares can be very handy if you're fault finding. Especially if your motherboard doesn't have onboard graphics.

An SSD will speed things up quite a lot. You don't need a complete new system with an i7. All you need is an SSD, a graphics upgrade and a decent PSU. I do tend to get a bit obsessive about PSUs:D

I would definitely consider replacing the PSU as well. Although it's been working fine, it could well be of dubious quality inside. Having had a look around the web, there's conflicting opinions about the OEM and it's listed in Tier 5. That's the same level as CiT PSUs!

Just to add a bit more variety, the Antec TruePower Classic is also £65 and is a very solid PSU:

The G7 780W isn't a good unit. The fact that it only has the 2 x pci-e connectors sets alarm bells ringing. A high quality 750W unit would have 4 x pci-e minimum.

It could also be one of the reasons why you are currently getting freezing/crashing issues. If the unit can't supply the power then the pc will become unstable.

If you want to start from fresh then yes an Intel cpu is the way forward at present. It could change once Zen is out but we won't know that until release.

The early benchmarks that are going around it doesnt look to promising but hopefully there wrong it would be good to see intel with some competition in the cpu market.

Thanks a lot for the help an advice guys very helpfully place this is.
So my current cpu 8320 is ok? think I have it running at 4.2ghz
Just so you know best way to help me i'm sort of guy that don't mind cost as long as its the best I can get for the money

So new psu
new graphics card
And a SSD
Should make my computer run a lot better ?
What's best card I can get for my current rig
System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
System Model: GA-990FXA-UD3
Is my motherboard

Many thanks again for help sorry to keep asking so many questions lol

An RX 480 or GTX 1060 would probably be the best bet with the FX-8320. Anything higher than that would probably give you bottlenecks, as the cpu wouldn't be able to keep up.

You could go for a GTX 1070 but you probably wouldn't get the full benefit. Even an i5 can have some bottlenecks with a GTX 1070 at 1080p in certain games.

Also if you are adding an SSD then I would look at doing a clean install of Windows, as you want that as your boot/gaming drive. So a Samsung Evo 250GB for example should have Windows on it and then install the games on it as well. Just use the HDD for mass storage of large files.

Just download all the drivers beforehand on to a USB stick for the motherboard from gigabyte website, and also the graphics card driver from the manufacturers website or Nvidia (GTX 1060)/AMD (RX 480) depending on what you go for.

I would suggest either the Sapphire RX 480 Nitro if you want another AMD card (It is pre-order) or a Gigabyte GTX 1060 Windforce for Nvidia.

The SuperFlower Leadex is the better psu in the list so long as you don't mind the 'LED' connectors. If you don't want light up connectors then the XFX XTR is still a very good unit.

The Samsung 750 EVO is a good SSD. The 850 EVO is a bit faster if you want to pay the extra. You probably won't notice much difference though.

So you are probably looking at a bit over £400. and if the worst comes to worst and you are still having issues, then you still have cash left to switch to Intel.

ive got the 750watt version of the XFX xtr and have no complaints. in fact its that good a unit ive got one in my sons machine as well
