need advice based on this o/c

hey all,

I have an opty146 which i currently run at 8.5*340 = 2.9ghz. Using a divider my cheap PC3200 samsung ram runs at 220mhz at; 2.5-3-3-8 using 1T. I am considering buying some better ram, First off do you think this will be worth it? I mean the fastest ram I can see will run up to 275mhz. would it really be worth paying £150 odd just for 50mhz increase on the mem bandwidth side? If so what ram would you recommend?

If you're into benching and willy waving then yes, if you're into games performance and stability, then no, not worth it imho. You can get ram up to 275mhz, but you'll have to slacken the timings to get there and you'll loose performance, it a trade off of speed against timings.

well i am partial to a bit of willy waving.. Thought as much tho, think I will just stick with what I got then. I think my a8n32 maxing out at 340 odd fsb anyhows, altho I cant test any higher cus it dosent like me settings mem divider have to use auto for some reason..
