need advice for new PC

i have a budget of £500 to get my first PC (always opting for a laptop) i just need some advice on what i could get for my money. i was looking at the gaming systems section and liked the look of the titan xenomorph which was in my budget, but i think the case is hideous with the green led's. i was thinking more about having the PC in the Antec Micro Fusion 350 HTPC Case or something similar. would this be possible, games are not really a must as i own 360 / PS3 but i would like to have the option if something good came along. so if someone would like to give me some advice it would be welcome...........................sudeki300

is there a particular reason you want to go for a pc over a laptop ?

as i have a 32" screen that i want to use for browsing / gaming and watching movies and with a PC it's easier to update components as with a laptop..........................sudeki300

Not sure how accommodating OCUK are, but they say they can make small changes to the system if you call them.

already have a 32" screen for browsing / gaming so it would be a waste to get another laptop, also it easier to upgrade components as with a laptop.

What is the purpose of the PC, and as has been asked above any reason in particular you are opting for a desktop over a notebook? Is portability important?

Will it be used with an LCD/LED TV or monitor?

Considered building it yourself?

Have you considered building one yourself? you can usually get more for your money that way.

I bought all my components separately and made myself a great system, of course, I spent £1000. Which was my budget! (Not that I earn a ton of cash, I don't. I just didn't want to go OTT).

You should phone the guys and ask them what a decent £500 system would be.

the main use of the Pc will be browsing, emails but i want it powerful enough incase i want to play a recent game. as i said in the previous post it will be used with a 32" lcd tv. i have not considered building it myself as i have never built a pc before but always bought a complete package (laptop) i already have a netbook so i don't need another portable device...........................sudeki300
