Hi guys,,
I'm trying to see what could be the bottleneck for high end gaming on my PC. Its either the RAM or the graphics card I think. Here's my current hardware:

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5 Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard
Intel Core i7 930 2.80GHz (Bloomfield) (Socket LGA1366) - Retail
EVGA GeForce GTX 460 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 12800C8 1600MHz Low Latency Triple Channel (PVT36G1600LLK)

Can anyone make any suggestions for compatible RAM or a new graphics card or even SLI? would sli be better than a new card?

Any help is appreciated!

vga for me

640, 650 and the 660 wouldn't break the bank and would be quicker than 2 of the cards you have, well the 660 would anyway and will work im guessing with your current psu which might not be the case for 2 in sli mode

your cpu is plenty fast enough and so is your ram for now and the amount you have.

depending on what you want to spend. 640 £80 650 £100 odd and the 660 for just under £200, with the last one being a 2gb card and way ahead of the one you already have,

will be plenty fast enough for most games but amd and not nvidia

if you can still find the card, which most dont now stock as its too old, therefore a new one would be your choice, i'd add £50 to it and go for the ati one i linked above as the same spec nvidia one is out of your price range
