Need advice guys

So im interested in AMD Bulldozer, and apprantly will be socket AM3 and AM3+ now i have some cash at the moment, and im off to uni in september, so by then i wont have money to spend on CPU + MOBO + Ram, so i figured i would get the best AM3 mobo now so i only have tyo buy the CPU later on. What do you think

Well ti had in mind the ASUS crosshair formula 3 motherboard, its just that i figure of buying a good AM3 mobo now in preparation for AMD bulldozer.

which has the GX version of the 890 chipset, so only does crossfire at 8X/8X and has onboard gpu

its got more chance of supporting bulldoser than the 7** series chipset.

nah probably womnt use dual

you would need to buy DDR3 memory aswell, plus your existing cpu( what is it)? may not work on the new board.

this is because, if its an older AM2 cpu it wont have a DDR3 memory controller

the only better, although thats a perfectly decent motherboard, are based on either the 890GX/FX chipset, which you dont need, because you said you dont need dual cards.

what ever a 890 chipset motherboard will support, that one will too.

but the memory timings arent as fast, and it has a slow speed rating

so you reckon i should go for it, and ill be ready for AMD bulldozer, or should i reallyjust wait until september time, which is really the time i start uni so dont really weant to be spending an awful lot of cash around then.

septembers a long time away, in terms of pc components, prices could go down/or up.

what ever money you have now to be able to spend £180 on a motherboard and ram, just keep it, and dont spend it.

why not buy it all later when the new range of boards arrive, when they have native usb3 and native sata3, buying now limits your options without improving your performance at all
