hello.
its a long post but... here we go.
i have spent some time looking around the forums, and various threads regarding overclocking, there are many helpfull posts, but i feel im still lacking the knowledge in this area.
so im going to create this thread, and ask for advice purley for my system, as im really unsure how to go about getting a better boost out of it.
im going to start with a few problems i have been having.
1- i have tried to keep windows fresh with installs, there has been a number of times, (and its doing it again) where i install windows xp pro. get up to date with all my drivers and software.
and after so long when i boot. the system hangs just after the windows is loading page. with the bar. it then goes black and its about 2-3mins before you see the login page. im really not sure how to fix this. but it keeps coming back. even when i fresh install and get up to date.
2- there is some problems in the device manager, usally when i install the drivers for these, the system is worse and thats when i get the slow performance, and system hangs, i disabled these but... im not sure if thats good or not. and what they do...
3- i have been using this pc for about a year now, since i made it. only just found out my memory was in single channel and not duel channel. so i changed that. and seems better now. not sure if i have everything else ok. which is why i need some advice.
4- not sure about if i need to install any motherboard updates or anything, or really if i should, i also having problems with my duel boot.
i have windows xp pro and vista, both on the same RAID-0,
but the raid is split. its two 74gb, raptors. but problem is when i wish to boot into vista, it will only boot if i place the dvd in the drive, if i just boot normally i wont see any duel boot screen and it will just boot windows xp.
