hi there i nneed some help selecting a laptop i know pcs and have built several but never owned a laptop anyway my neice wants one for her birthday she will be doing only basic things soo a basic laptop and cheap is what i am after how ever. she plays one game called a perfect world. now if the laptop can not play that game i know she ill not be happy.

her main pc is quite old but plays it fine on an old radin card i instaled for her but most cheap laptops dont have dedicated gfx cards.

sooo basically what cheap laptop can run that game ? will i need a dedicated gfx card or will a decent processor play it ?

budget is 400 or less

how old is the game?

im not 100% sure if the i3 / i5 / i7 intal HD graphics chip would work that great on it. Its hard to say. It might. I know mine can run some games (like oblivion, TF2) in lower settings and look ok but the newer the game the harder it is to tell if it will work well.

You better off getting some sort of dedicated card, i doubt it needs a really high end one or anything though.

edit

I typed in "intel HD graphics for perfect world game" in google and there is a link or 2 on the list that might help you.

I think this one had some info - http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&so...spTGBA&usg=AFQjCNFZ_hzZAikIOSCt1ywiUDbaI45Kjg

How much do you want to spend? Screen size etc etc?

had a another look on specs and its actually a fairly old game. I think it would possibly work in the IGP or the intel Ix chips fine.

If i get time i may even download it and test it for you.

thankyou for yoru help. i havent played the game myself i know itrs a free one though of internet soo cant be that amazing on gfx. i was wondering about the i3 i5 range of cpus the budget ideally is 400 wich i know may be pushing it hence seeeking advice if i had to spend more to be able to play that game then basically cheap as possible lol.

screen size 15

ok well the notebook i got was £500. You can prob get an i3 one for about £400 that might work. You should def be able to get something between £400-£500 though.

I looked the game up on wikipedia and the specs for the game are fairly low and i think it was originally made in 2005. While the intel HD graphics (IGP) isnt exactly great its a lot better than its previous versions and should be able to play games like that.

No guarentees though.

on here you can get http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=LT-034-MS&groupid=959&catid=1828&subcat=

That might work.

might want to hear someone elses opinion first though.

I know that my lap top would be able to play world of warcraft on low / medium settings pretty well (have seen videos) so i imagine if it can do that it can play this free MMO.
