I need a laptop with two hard drives, maybe up to 500gb each. The second one has to be an exact clone of the first one automatically backing itself up quite regularly, maybe once a day.

It is going to be running a couple of cryptocurrency wallets which doesn't take a huge amount of Processing power. Basically that is the entire function of the machine so maybe a core i5 max, but I want the data backup process to be quite fast so maybe an ESATA port may help there So how powerful should the laptop be, should i use SSDs, if so which brands for reliability, what software should I use fro the cloning process that isn't a pain in the backside to figure out and use?

Any help would be appreciated.

Try posting in the Storage forum (they'll know which software too), and you'll want to provide an idea of budget, because SSDs vary in performance/reliability/price. I do think you'll want SSDs to ensure the backups are quicker.

Almost any laptop that supports two drives will also support RAID, allowing you to enable RAID1 in in the BIOS and make the second drive a duplicate of the first.
