ok I'm a newbie at choosing computer parts and over clocking :P and i need some help with choosing a graphics card. i got a PICE x16 slot free and i was told to get a x800 GTO and then flash it to unlock something i wasn't sure what on earth was he talking about, and he said it only works on some manufactures and some of them stop it some how =/ .... then he said i need a new PSU too because my old one sucks, and then he goes and scare me saying some PSU blows up =/

now i just really confused and i need some help choosing a PSU and graphics card... btw budget is around £70.(note put down any suggestions dont matter if alone a bit over budget i see what i can do :D)

appreciate the help :D

Ok, I'm sure he was talking unlocking the extra 'pipes' on the x800 via a bios flash, but I would ignore this and get a different graphics card altogether. Firstly, do you know the wattage of you current PSU, i.e 200W/300W etc. If you have anything below about 300W then I would get this and this. I realize that this comes out at about £100, which is over budget, but if your PSU is 300W+ then you should be fine running a 8600GT, so you'll only need to buy the card.

Depends on what PSU you have atm really.

I'm going to guess if you buy a new card you'd be alright with a 8600GT which i've found to be a pretty good card for the price.
