Need advice on Compact Camera

Hi all

The other half is after a compact camera, for her/me to use when taking the 40d is not really an option (that as she does not like using the 40d)

What make/model to look at for, as for budget.....again not really sure how much to allocate £150-£250?

So I think I be after something that a novice can use quite happily, but also I can happily have fun and play with settings etc.......

Well I'm looking at getting a decent compact camera for my wife, and I'm heading towards the Canon PowerShot SX220 HS. The main reason is the decent zoom it has, but overall it is supposed to be a good compact camera anyway. The Panasonic TX20 I think is also supposed to be quite a good camera. There are plenty of options in that price range though, so I'd also get to a shop and just try a load of them out.
