need advice on ddr 2 memory

hi i need to get 8 gb of ram
i use the pc for film and sound editing




corsia ddr2 TWIN2X4096-6400C5C 2x2 gb ..... some seem to me to be in a blue heatsick and some seem to be in a purple one

can anyone tell me ,, is there any difference between the two or are they both really the same thing ,,, the only way i can tell is the colour !!

i have to say i usually buy the purple stuff lol

Hi there,

They are basically the same modules (same make, same type, same timings, same speed, same voltage) the difference appears to just be cosmetic. For sure, they would both perform as well as each other.

Also, beware buying memory on fleebay. These modules when bought new from a shop directly are explicitly offered with a lifetime warranty - on fleebay they rarely offer such generous terms. Hence why prices at retail may be a bit higher - but imho worth it in the long run.
