Hi there in looking at getting a new chair for myself and would like some advice on which ones i should be looking at

im a 6ft 5" and i weigh about 22 stone (139.706 KG) and i wear XXL and XXXL clothing so at last time i measured my waist size was 50cm and my hips are about 54cm i am unable to lose weight fast *took me 1 year to lose 1 stone even when walking 3 hours a day with the dogs

im looking for a chair that i can sit in comfortably for about 3 to 6 hours a day (university student) and which can handle my current weight (the chair i have caster wheels broke off)

Thanks for taking your time to read this and also i wasnt sure which section i sould put this in so i stuck it in GD :)

Firstly the weight issue, calorific deficit and eating the right foods (sod off takeaways etc etc) combined with an hour or more of walking a day will see you shed pounds really quickly. As you're at Uni, you should have a gym there that will be able to give you free nutritional advice and even go so far as to planning a whole diet out for you with sample meals etc.

On to your actual question, most of the DX-Racing/AKRacing chairs are supposedly pretty sturdy - they certainly seem to fair well with some of the pro CSGO players that are absolutely behemoths!

I would recommend either one of the large DX Racing chairs or even a large recliner

After one of these for my media corner for movie watching.

The Humanscale Freedom would be my suggestion. The first one I purchased coped fine when I was at my heaviest - a full 23 stone, nearly 147kg. I still have it, in fact, and I like it so much that I bought another one for my second desk. Both of mine were refurbished models purchased from eBay for around £230. Admittedly even second hand they're not cheap, but as you've already discovered, a cheap chair isn't going to support your weight.

Since you're a bigger than average fellow, any chair with wheels is going to have a weak point, so I would probably suggest trying to get a fixed base chair rather than a mobile one.
