Need advice on new build

Hi

The times came to upgrade some of the components since 2017.
My current setup as per below

CPU: I7-8700K 3.7GHZ (COFFEE LAKE)
Mobo: Gigabyte Z370 AORUS ULTRA Gaming
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080Ti Gaming OC
HDD: 1TB WD Caviar Blue
SSD: 120GB Samsung 840 PRO
Case: Corsair Carbide Series 500R
CPU Fan: Some unnamed brand, can't remember
RAM: TEAM GROUP EDITION 16GB (2X8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C14 3200MHZ DUAL CHANNEL
PSU: 650W Corsair Enthusiast Series TX650M
LCD: ROG SWIFT PG279QE, 27in WQHD

I know it's hard to get any of the 30xx Nvidia cards so I will stay with 1080Ti until I can get the new one.

Planning to upgrade mobo, ram, cpu, cpu fan, psu and nvme. Main purpose, gaming, mainly COD Warzone.

Just out of curiosity why are you upgrading the CPU and ram? My 8700k isn't bottlenecking me on cold war mp at 3440x1440p, with graphics settings lowered still hitting between 180-200fps. The ram for gaming is decent too.
 
Stand to be corrected but from what I've seen there's barely any difference between 5600X and 10600K in Warzone at 1080p (with RTX 3080) once the RendererWorkerCount is set to 6, meaning there should be no significant difference between 8700K and 5600X once resolution is pushed up to 1440p. Could be wasting quite a bit of money on a pointless upgrade. Maybe upgrade the CPU cooler and overclock it. RAM at 3200 C14 is good stuff.

 
Just because I thought it's outdated and there is more better stuff on the market since 2017 :P What cooler would you recommend? I was thinking about upgrading the fans, so remove the stock fans with something better.

Is the Samsung 250GB 970 EVO Plus MZ-V7S250BW any good, I could use it for windows drive and then buy 1TB for another slot ? I can have it for half price from one od my mates, brand new one.

 
I’ve done it yesterday on current cooler, clock changed to 4.5ghz gives me around 60c on idle in warzone so not bad though. Don’t play any other games

I think I’ve got Corsair H100i somewhere in wardrobe still sealed, didn’t like the pipes being so hard to bend so I kept it as spare.

thats fine for just windows etc, but def get a 1tb m.2 for games , if you have COD on an HDD you must be the last person in the game? I havnt had a HDD for years in my gaming PC

Always on hdd lol, a bit outdated but never mind, I’ll be on ssd now
