Hi Guys,

I've recently bought all 3 consoles and as such never really game on my pc at all much anymore, I have friends round a lot so consoles seemed to be the better option to me. Now my current rig is as follows:-

Q6600 @ 3.4ghz
Abit IP 35 Pro
8800GT 512MB
2GB PC 6400

I will but putting that on ebay and will in turn be looking for replacements on the cheap as I only really use the PC for HD video viewing, web browsing etc. I have chosen the following components so far:-

Athlon 64 939 socket cpu
Athlon 64 939 socket motherboard
Ati Radeon x1950 pro Pci Express
1GB dual channel pc3200
Windows XP 32 bit

Now I wouldn't mind light gaming playing abit of TF2 every now and then but if I can't do it on the system above I wouldn't be too bothered as could always get it for 360 etc. So for what i've specced would you say that would be sufficent for my needs or should I get AMD X2 etc?

Cheers
Danny

To be honest theres little point in going for old-school S939 stuff, you will be able to build a dead cheap C2D machine probably for around the same price (Under £400 and will be far better than any old system, and more upgradable). Are you looking for second hand or just basic new parts? What sort of budget?

Edit - Although even old hardware can run TF2 fine, 2 GB of RAM is a must even if you stay with S939

Well I could get the parts I listed above off of ebay for about £125, I would be using it to view xvids and hd films more than any gaming which would be left to the consoles really.
