So I have to upgrade my dad's pc. What I currently have in plan is giving him my old AM3+ board (MSI 970A-G43) and getting him a FX-4300. What should I do for the CPU cooler. Should I use the stock 4300 cooler, or use the stock cooler from my 8350 (I presume they are different, from looking at some pictures).
What gpu should I get him. The case he has does not have a lot of airflow, and he does not do much on his pc. Mostly just browsing the web. The most demanding tasks would probably be opening a dxf or cdr drawing in some viewer.

Are you planning on overclocking the system? If not I'd just stick to the stock 8350 cooler as it is more likely to be beefier. If you're looking to keep costs low but if you have some left over currency to spend then get a cheap Raijintek heatsink cooler otherwise the CPU should be fine with stock :)

I'm not planing to overclock, since it is not worth it, at least for what he will be using the pc for.

And yes, I am trying to keep the costs as low as possible.

What about the gpu. Which one should I get him.

For a GPU since he doesn't appear to do much that's graphically intensive I would get him a 950/960 or something along those lines. I'm not particularly sure though as it is not my field of expertise :D

I wonder if that wouldn't be a total overkill for him. I wouldn't be even looking for a gpu, if the amd fx cpus had integrated graphics.

Won't your motherboard have intergrated graphics though even if the CPU doesn't? All the AM3+ boards I have seen/used have had them (Granted I haven't had much to do with AM3+ systems ) :)
