Sorry to make another WC thread guys, but I feel I have to in order to get some advice. This is the first time I am watercooling, but I know the risks, and have not got a choice really as I need to cool my mobo down.
I want to cool a Q6600 and a Striker II Extreme motherboard. I gather that the striker's fusion block has 3/8 fittings. And I have read on other fourms NOT to use the supplied barbs/ connector as they are very prone to leaking. And also, reducing a 1/2 hose to a 3/8 is supposed to kill flow rate?
The striker II extreme fusion block has 3/8 fittings (I think, this is where I need help). So I thought it would be best if the wholse setup consisted of 3/8 hose? Correct me if I'm wrong.
I will be mounting the rad via a radbox on the back of my Antec 1200. and am not looking to watercool my gfx cards.
So far, I am thinking of the following bits and bobs:
CPU block: XSPC Delta V3:

RAD: XSPC RS240 RAD:

(With a radbox to mount it on the back of my 1200. it's a dual because I wasn't thinking of cooling gfx.).
Reservoir: I think a bay reservoir would be great, but I am open to suggestions on this one.
Pump: Also unclear on this one, was thinking of getting a reservoir/pump combination. Thinking of the XSPC DUAL 750.
Not very sure about these either:
Tubing: Some 3/8 ID, 1/2 OD hose. (maybe 3m or 4m)
fittings: G1/4" - 3/8" ID / 1/2" OD TFC Compression Fittings (don't know how much I'd need 8 or 10? ).
Fluid: Whatever's in stock when ordering I suppose, but bearing in mind that my ASUS Fusion block is Aluminium that "looks" like copper, it'll need to be anti-corrosive?)
If I've missed some things out, please tell me. I won't be buying the stuff for a while anyway, need to learn a bit more and grow some courage.
Also, I am not sure about the size of the tubing I've selected because of the Fusion block. Any advice will be greatly appreciated guys. Thanks.
