need advice on which router

I need to get a router or a switcher box to work with a cable based connection. at the moment there's an old ntl box that's mains powered and converts the cable to a single ethernet that's in the computer. I need something that'll convert the cable to multiple ethernet and wireless.

is the a product that'll do this or is there a switcher box with wireless without connection firmware installed?

I personally haven't set up a network with a cable connection before. thanks

I thought it was that easy but some of the pictures on the items in that section aren't correct for the products and I couldn't see any pictures showing the cable input. Just wanted to make sure

The pictures look fine here - it isn't the coax that plugs into the router, but the ethernet cable from the modem. You continue to use the cable modem that Virgin Media gave you.
