Hi there I need some advice. I want to upgrade my graphics card and memory. So what I have at the moment is my motherboards is ASROCK P67EXTREME6 my cpu is i52500k. memory is corsair 2x4gig ddr3 . And my graphics card is ati5870. Radeon RX 480 Nitro+ OC 8192MB would this graphics card work on my motherboard. Also could anybody recommend what memory I could go for. Thanks

Keep the memory you've got ( unless youre looking to run applications such as photoshop, that utilise the increased memory )
Ensure your powersupply is adequet
Flash bios to latest.
What resolution are you playing at? What're your expectations from the GPU itself?

I wouldn't touch the reference model. AIBs should be released later this month.

Kind regards

hi thanks for reply`s . My case is a thermaltake kandalf. My psu is 750w but not sure what make. I game at 1080 and really want to upgrade to play racing games. I have been out the loop for sometime and returning to pc gaming. So will it make much difference to upgrade my card and memory. its the 5870 1gig version I have now.

Have a look inside your case, and see what make it is. I'm sure it'll be fine though.

How much are you looking to spend?

If you're happy at 1080 and not wanting to spend a ridiculous amount of money, 380 is a good choice. If you demand more umph, GTX 970 is another good option with £20 cashback. If you're happy to wait for AIB to be released for rx 480 later this month, but you'll be looking at around £50 more than a gtx 970.
My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £165.89

Have you currently got an SSD? as that will improve your loading experience massivly, especially loading big racing maps.

Kind regards
