I've googled but haven't found any definitive answers so joined to see if someone can point me in the right direction. My system is self built but built around 7 years ago now and haven't upgraded since so its a bit out of date but still plays most high end games without issue.
Specs are, asus (republic of gamers) striker extreme mobo, Intel QX6850 quad core extreme overclocked to 3.3ghz, 8Gb corsair xms2 ddr2 ram, x-fi fatality pro sound and a bfg 8800gtx oc gpu.
what I need advice on is my gpu. Does anyone know what my mobo will support as I'd like to upgrade from the 8800gtx or am I limited. As far as I'm aware it supports gddr3 so am I able to stick in any gddr3 card or am I barking up the wrong tree? Help and suggestions are warmly appreciated!
