Could you have a look at the following and give comments please. I have asked a local independent shop guy if he would make me up a new system as my laptop recently crashed, this is his suggestion, I only use internet, Microsoft office and adobe cs6

PSU - 500w black atx power supply
Motherboard - Asus P8-H77-I Mini ITX motherboard
CPU - Intel Core i5 3340 Quad core 3.1GHz CPU
RAM - 8GB Kingston HyperX (2x4GB) DDR3 1333MHz
Hard Drive 1 - 128GB Sandisk Ultra 2.5" SSD SATA-111 (6Gb/s)
Hard Drive 2 - 500GB Western Digital 2.5" SATA-11 (3Gb/s)
Optical Drive - LG 24x SATA-11 DVD-RW Drive
Operating System - MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit or MS Windows 8
USB 3's front & back

He has quoted me £649

Does this seem like a good set up, is there anything that should be added or taken away, I am not an expert by the way
Advice greatly received. Thanks.

can i ask the dumb questions. the options suggested by the two members above are these what they would do in my position
are these supplied through overclockers
would there be hdmi port, usb 3.0 etc or are they extra on ths
sorry for being totally green on this

The specs with the biege text are pre-built systems from overclockers, the specs listed all white are individual components you'd have to assemble yourself.

If you prefer just having it all built for you, go with a system from overclockers and you'll get something better for your money than you will off the local PC guy.

That's entirely up to you, if you'd feel more reassured by speaking to someone directly over the phone, then give them a call i'm sure they'll be more than happy to discuss and work out a build with you on the phone.

If you'd prefer to do it all from the comfort of your chair without the chit chat, then feel free to go ahead and just order it through the website.

sorry do the hdmi and usb ports come with these bundles or do you have to ask for them

Ask as many questions you like, no need to feel bad about it.. :)

I don't know of any system these days that doesn't come with USB ports, and HDMI is pretty common for current tech(if not, you can always use a DVI to HDMI converter for HDMI connectivity).

If there are some connectivity specifications you specifically want, i'm sure a staff member will be happy to go over this with you on the phone.

can i ask another question, do i need or is there included a graphics card in the system i showed at the top. I should have said earlier that my 4 year old grandson is using a computer now and he likes to watch stuff on youtube etc, do i need graphics for this. i am trying to educate him and sort of guess ahead for him and i for our use over the next few years
Also will need to get a touchscreen as well, will the above suit that and any suggestions on one that would suit please

Do you think he will in the future? I have no experience whatsoever with touch screen monitors so hopefully someone else will come along and help you out with that.

i would say there is a chance that he will more than likely play games of some sort in the future. its like everything else at times its trying to get a happy medium for photo editing and games

he will want to get a pretty basic graphics card in that case. Will probably only set you back about £80, as long as it's nothing demanding. I would say once again to ask OcUK when you ring them :)
