Heya guys, recently bought a 6950 2gb TwinFrozrIII, wondering whether I'd see better performance if I was to swap it out for 5970 xfire? How much extra would it cost me?

Or am I better saving up about £300 for new psu + 6950?

If your current PSU won't run Crossfired HD 6950's then it's unlikely to run a HD 5970.

Or are you talking about 2 HD 5970's which would be Quadfire?

The power consumption of a HD 5970 isn't that much less than Crossfired HD 6950's.

The performance of Crossfired HD 6950's is much better than a HD 5970.

What PSU do you currently have and do you have a Crossfire compatible motherboard which will run at least at x8/x8?

Currently have a Zalman 500w.

Going to upgrade the psu regardless, I'm just wondering whether I'd be better getting 2x less powerful cards now or waiting for a month or so and getting a second 6950?

Motherboard has 2 x16 lanes so I'm guessing it'll still run x8/x8?

Ahh nice, I didn't understand just how much of a boost it'd be.

Would a 650w be able to handle 2x 6950's? I've been recommended the TruePower 650w. If not, which PSU would you go for?

Including a 4.4ghz i5 @ 1.34v and 1hdd (possibly adding a ssd in the future)

Do you happen to know if I can fit a second 6950 in a NZXT M59 case?

I know I'll need 90 degree sata cables to fit under the second card.

There'll be an empty slot between the cards which will help with cooling.

You have helped me in every one of my threads so far :P Much love for ya.

Last question. Currently got a PCI wireless card, I assume I have enough slots but I'm not sure about spacing, possibly going to add a sound card in the future too

You're welcome.

If you get a second dual slot HD 6950 they'll fit as shown on the picture blow.

Your PCI wireless card will fit in the free PCI slot on the far left.

If you get a x1 PCI-E sound card it will fit in the slot on the right.
