Need advice

OK I've just got 30mb tinterweb from virgins. Now I have a pair of dlan plugs but I'm not getting anywhere the speed through them than I'm getting through my phone which is on wireless.

My question is should I get a wireless card for my pc or get a better pair of dlan plug things?

Sorry for the noob question but I'm sort of puzzled on what's the best option.

run a speed test on them and see what you get?

I've got TP-Link ones (200Mb)... get 20Mb from them at best, they even got RMA'd, got a new pair and their identical, even when plugged in next to each other...

Run a cable straight to the router if at all possible

I've ran a speed test. My phone gets 28-30mb. Pc upstairs gets 4-8mb.
Running a cable is a no go as the girlfriend would kill me. I'll look into getting some TP-link but a higher speed like 300mb and see how much they are.

you can look at the wireless n adapters and perform some speed tests and see if they will make a difference
