I bought the Ultima Viper system with the following specs:

- Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply
- CPU: Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz Overclocked to 4.00GHz
- Motherboard: GA-X58A-UD3R
- Cooler: Corsair H70 CPU Cooler
- RAM: Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel
- Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache
- Graphics Card: Choice of the latest graphics cards
- Sound: Realtek ALC889 7.1 Channel Sound (On-Board)
- Optical Drive: LG DVD+/-RW SATA Drive
- SSD OCJ Vertex 60GB

I booted it up and got as far as the starting windows splash screen and then a bsod. Spoke to support who advised reinstalling windows.

Done that, this time loaded up ok and got as far as installing the graphics driver. Upon installing and reboot another BSOD.

Tried switching the card into another PCI slot, same issue.

Tried an old 4870 in its place and this is working fine.

Tried both hdmi and dvi, no difference. My monitor is an Asus VH222H. I will call them again tomorrow but wondered if anyone knew of anything else I could try in the mean time??

Go to BIOS and make sure memory voltage is 1.65V.
Default DDR3 voltage of 1.5V might not be enough for stable operation.

Are you able to get a note of the actual BSOD Error message?

If it is restarting automatically then you should be able to disable the automatic restart by pressing F8 when windows starts to load to get into the advanced options screen and selecting "Disable automatic restart on system failure"

this will give you a chance to write down the message.

Bios reading says 1.66 voltage (DRAM). Is that the right one?

When I say BSOD, it's literally just a black screen without any message at all. The fan on the gpu is chugging away but the moment it tries to load windows after the driver install, it's just a black screen.

Also the monitor seems to detect some input from the card as it does not go into standby mode or give any messages about no signal.
