Hi,
Due to the rather pathetic speeds we get from Virgin, any sort of traffic (browsing or streaming video) messes with my pings in games making it almost unplayable. What I want is a wireless ADSL router (don't need wireless N support) that is compatible with VM ADSL and allows me to prioritise traffic from a certain host or for certain traffic, not just on the LAN, but also outgoing/incoming on the ADSL connection. Anything that will keep the ping low while I play games and when other people are browsing/streaming media.
We have a DSL-2640R given to us by Virgin and I've tried configuring QoS on that, but it doesn't have any affect at all.
Years ago when I was in a similar situation, I had a Zoom router which wasn't bad for the price and highly configurable. It let me prioritise all traffic for a certain host and it actually worked. For some reason I binned it in a house move...
I don't want to be spending much more than £100 if possible.
