Need an ISP suggestion OCUK!

Hey all,

Finally moved, and now in my student house. A big Victorian 3 story jobby, lovely and 7 of us in total.

But, we're without internet.

There is a phone line here, but the line is dead.

So...

Can anyone recommend a decent ISP, ideally something without limits (although we won't be downloading a huge amount), and cheap!

Will we also need a phone line with BT? Or at least activate it with BT?

Wouldnt posting some info on exchange etc be more useful?

I've had my own internet connection since 1998 and Zen are by far the best ISP I've been with.

Looking at the LLU providers you can get at that post code I would say take a phone line and broadband from sky - should be under £20 a month all in.

Have you considered Virgin Media? If your in a cable area I think thats the best route.

+1 definately the best choice for you. 1.1km as the crow flies from your exchange so should be good for 10-15meg. Sky routers wifi speeds are a bit pants so would look into using another router though.

If its only aDSL you can get I would go with sky, 7 students in a house is gonna wreck any dsl connection, last thing you wanna worry about is traffic management or throtelling which sky dont have.
