Need an upscaling DVD

I've just purchased a Sony KDL32v4000. I'm looking for a reasonable upscaling dvd player. Can anyone recommend one for around £30-£40?

We got a Phillips HDMI dvd player from Asda of all places, on special at the moment for £49.99 or there about. Works great with our 50" Sony LCD

The scaler in your TV is going to be better than that of a £50 DVD player.

Exactly what I was thinking. A good branded standard player with a good RGB scart output would be as good quality if not better than a cheap upscaler.

Agreed, I often have my customer's players output at 576P and let the TV handle the scaling for the best results.

A decent Toshiba player or such would be best bet. Or, put the money toward a BD player / PS3.

Was gonna say your never gonna find a reasonable upscaler for that price. I would be surprised if you could even buy one for under £100, let alone £30-£40!!!
