Need better air cooling

Dear all,

I've recently exchanged my trusted opty 144 for a opty 170. My Zalman 9500LED has served me well so far, but this new chip runs pretty warm. I seem stable enough at 2.7ghz but my temps are.....not low.

Even as I write this I've been only dual-priming for 10 mins and i'm already at 69C. My old opty barely got to 60 even on a very hot day after hours of Oblivion. (just hit 70C which is close to ).

I will try to reseat the heatsink, but I think i got it right the first time so I guess the 9500LED just isn't up to the job.

So what I want to know is, what's the very best air cooler on the market? And indeed what is the best heatsink that doesn't sound like a jet engine?

Thanks all,

Uncle

Scythe Ninja eh? Hmm, seems that OcUk do these. Good. I assume that no one uses these passively do they? Are they much bigger than a Zalman 9500LED? And for that matter, are they actually much better?

Also is it worth getting a better 120mm fan than the one provided?

Thanks
