Need broadband for 6 months. How??

BT line contracts are 12 months.
Don't have cable on my road.
Need broadband for 6 months (maybe more), but 6 is the minimum.

How do I do it?? Can't figure this one out...

Even considered "mobile broadband" but it's all limited and seems ridiculously priced. The best offer is T-mobile's, which has a fair usage policy with no charges for going over, but that's on a 12month contract too..

any ideas?

When we moved house early 2007 I wanted a short term contract as Be were going to enable my exchange in the next few months. In the end I went with Freedom2Surf for about 6 months and was able to cancel without any issues or hidden costs. Their customer support was also excellent plus speeds were good as well. Not sure if they've been affected by the Pipex/Tiscali takeover though.

Go with one of the Entanet resellers (I recommend the UK Free Software Network) - you'll have to pay a signup fee, but there is no minimum contract (it's monthly rolling).
 
Your gonna need a telephone line.

even companies who will do there own telephone deal will want a 12 or 18 month contract.
 
1. Come to an agreement with a neighbour and use their connection for 6 months
2. Come to the conclusion that 3G dongles are more expensive, but the Pay As You Go ones will not tie you to a contract.
3. Use the internet in the library
