Need broadband

Rights folks,

I have mooved house, and currently it's a cable area line what ever u wana call it.

I'm really after 02 broadband as i was with them in my previous address.
Now for me to get 02 i need a active bt line. In the house there is a bt socket/switch but when i try connecting a phone i dont get a dial tone. Rang up bt and they say i gootta pay £124.99 to get it activated something like that.

Now i dont wana pay that sum, and only other broadband i can think of is VM which i dont wana go with them (after all these new (T&C) they are going a downhill atm)

So wher do i stand?

either pay bt or have vm. those are you options. lots of people posting threads like this maybe something needs to be put in the sticky. sky will give you the £124 back but only as credit.

In some cases you can talk BT out of the charge, but if there's no dialtone you're probably stuffed.

i have rang BT about 3-4 times and tried totalk BT out of it, but i'm not having any luck at the mo.
They did say i can pay it in 6 months if i cant afford to pay it in one go.

Man, VM broadband is it any good? Not like i want it, but if i have no choice then i will be stuck. I did ring tiscali and they did say that even i dont have a active BT line, they can able to activate it for £30 but obviously taking out the phone line with them and possible of broadband too. Tiscali any good?
